Clear packaging has become iconic with KIND bars, but it’s not only because you eat with your eyes first. The wrappers were designed to reinforce one of the brand’s most important tenets: transparency. KIND likes to keep its bars as wholesome as possible, choosing ingredients you can see clearly and pronounce easily.

The History of KIND

Owner Daniel Lubetzky started the company in 2004 after becoming frustrated with the lack of healthy options to meet his afternoon protein fix. So he made his own, starting with a line of fruit and nut bars.

KIND Company Mission

It should come as no surprise that a company called KIND believes that kindness can change the world. Nope, it’s not just about the snack bar (although world-changers definitely need to stay fueled). After its founding, the brand started the KIND Movement, which advocates for honesty, problem solving, and active participation in creating positive change. The company asks its followers to frequently vote on a “KIND Cause” like building playgrounds in low-income neighborhoods to buying suitcases for foster children, then KIND donates $10,000 to a new cause each month.
