And like a well-tended garden, the company has gone on to grow tremendously. Today, Mrs. Meyer’s is considered by many to be a household staple, proving that it’s possible to thoroughly clean your home without the toxins, artificial ingredients, or harsh chemicals that are found in so many mainstream cleaners. The company has also proved that success enables you to do big things for your community. Mrs. Meyer’s isn’t just a company that prides itself on good ingredients, but on doing good things for the planet like supporting gardening efforts nationwide. Here’s a closer look at how this company continues to bloom.

The History of Mrs. Meyer’s

The origins of Mrs. Meyer’s come from Mrs. Thelma A. Meyer herself. Meyer began as an Iowa homemaker and mother of nine who also had a bit of a green thumb. One day, Meyer’s daughter Monica was walking the supermarket aisles and noticed a need for household cleaning products without harsh chemicals. Monica was suddenly inspired with an idea to “make cleaners that smell nice, like my mom's garden, but still work like the dickens on daily dirt and grime,” and Mrs. Meyer’s began.
