Sambazon was founded in 2000 with the twin goals of health and happiness in mind. Its energy drinks and other offerings are made with the unique South American superfood açaí, providing important health benefits and satisfying nourishment to consumers.

Inspired by three SoCal surfers' trip to Brazil in 1999, Sambazon's products are economically, socially and environmentally minded. All ingredients are sustainably, Fair Trade-sourced, entirely organic and non-GMO.

The History of Sambazon

In 1999, two friends - and later, one brother - went to Brazil to surf, and understandably fell in love with the nation's culture and energy. The next year, they decided to take those newfound passions and start Sambazon, with a focus on the açaí berry superfood.

It's the key ingredient in all of the company's organic energy drinks, and its success has led them to distribute these high-quality products in 25 different countries across five continents.

Sambazon Company Mission

Sambazon is built on what it calls the "Triple Bottom Line," measuring success not only by turning profits, but also giving back and making a difference socially and economically.

In adhering to this ideal, the company supports about 20,000 family farmers in the Amazon rainforest, sourcing berries and other ingredients from places where they are harvested in much the same way they have for centuries: from palm (tree) to palm (of the hand).

Even the production plants where the berries are processed adhere to eco-friendly ideals.

Benefits of Sambazon

With açaí berries as the main ingredient in all its energy drinks and other products, it should come as no surprise that these superfoods pack a super punch for your health. The benefits of açaí include:

Brimming with antioxidants to prevent cell damage
Loaded with omega fatty acids - great for general health
Low in natural sugars without losing their distinctive sweetness

Some Sambazon products also include other fruits, such as pomegranate, passion fruit, and blood orange, all of which have their own beneficial properties - they taste great, too.

Superfood Ideas to Make at Home

Many people know açaí berries for their inclusion in many smoothies and other healthy beverages, and Sambazon energy drinks can be used as the perfect base liquid for any such concoction.

How to Make a Great Smoothie

As a general rule, you should use about 1 cup of liquid per 12 ounces of smoothie you intend to consume, so one can of Sambazon energy drink can make roughly 18 ounces of smoothie overall. Making larger batches and storing them in the fridge for later can be an ideal time saver too.
